"Dmitri" came to DunRoamin' from the Perth-Andover area on November 17, 2016.  He was dehydrated, skinny, had fleas, worms, a bladder infection, was thirsty, hungry and matted.  He was born about November 17, 2004.  His vet determined that he was diabetic and he is currently taking insulin, but maybe that will change as he becomes healthier.  On December 27, 2016, we learned that he is FIV-positive.

Dmitri is the 203rd stray we have accepted this year and our resources are running low.  In order to care for him and his friends, we require volunteers, foster homes and most especially financial support to ensure they receive the care they require.   If you're able to help these little guys in any way, donations are gratefully accepted here.

Thankfully, a foster mother was more than happy to take him home and administer the care he required.  He has fallen in love with her, as well as the rest of her family, and that seems to be mutual, because . . .

. . . on December 31, 2016, we learned that he will be a permanent family member.  Wow!  Going from a sick, thirsty, hungry, down-on-your luck kitty to well-loved king of your domain (which also includes several other four-footed brothers and sisters)!  What a wonderful gift you have been given, Dmitri!  New Year's Eve,  2017, marks the start of the life you have always deserved.  Congratulations!!

** FIV is contagious to other cats through blood and saliva.  It is reasonably difficult to spread, however, and now believed to be mostly spread through deep bite wounds.  Obviously it would be ideal if FIV-positive cats only lived with other FIV-positive cats, but currently some of the large rescue centers in the US have been studying multi-cat households with FIV-positive cats living with FIV-negative cats and have so far found the risk to the non-FIV cats to be very small, assuming that the cats are all spayed/neutered and used to living in groups (ie:  not as likely to fight).

"Ghoul" came to DunRoamin' on Hallowe'en evening, 2016 from the Woodstock area.  He had been surrendered to the NB SPCA when his owner moved away and couldn't take him along.  Euthanization became an option.  He was only six months old - had barely even begun his life, so we couldn't see allowing that to happen.  He was only six months old!

Ghoul was born about May 1, 2016 and has double paws on his front feet.  He is friendly, loving, affectionate and happy with the joy of life only a kitten can express in motion!  Ghoul tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), so he'd like to be an only cat or live with another FeLV-positive cat if at all possible.  Please read about FeLV here.  Ghoul has been neutered and fully vaccinated, as are all DunRoamin' cats. 

On December 28, 2016, Ghoul was chosen as the newest member of a lady in Fredericton where he'll live happily ever after with her and her dog.  Congratulations, Ghoul! Merry Christmas!!

FeLV is found worldwide in cats.  In the US, approximately 2 - 3 % of all cats are FeLV-positive.  The virus is shed in saliva, nasal secretions, urine, feces and milk from infected cats, so FeLV cats should live with other FeLV cats or as only cats to ensure the virus is not passed on.  FeLV is the most common cause of cancer in cats.  To learn more about FeLV, please read here.

On July 2, 2016, DunRoamin' accepted three young cats who had been rescued by the NB SPCA. "Siegas," a little grey tabby girl, was born about July 1, 2015.  Her two male friends, Aurele and Yanic, were born about July 1, 2013.  Both Aurele and Yanic were eventually adopted.

All three cats were in dire need of medical attention.  All were very thin - you could feel nothing but fur and bones when patting them.  They all had ear mites, were dehydrated and had varying degrees of conjunctivitis (inflammation of the eyelid and moist tissues of the eye) which displayed in redness, irritation and swelling.  They also had sinusitis (inflammation of the nasal passages) which displayed in a raspy and noisy breathing pattern, especially for Yanic.  They also had sneezing fits which discharged large amounts of mucus.

All three cats also had dental issues.  Siegas had missing and loose incisors.  Aurele and Yanic had broken and infected teeth which required dental surgery - their teeth were in such bad shape that all required extraction.  Thanks to Dr Monteith at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, these cats immediately began medical treatment which included antibiotics to combat infection and prescription food to relieve diarrhea.  They stayed under her care until they attained a healthy weight, underwent dental surgery and their infections were cured.  When healthy enough, they were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, tested for FIV and FeLV and began the adoption process to find safe and loving homes.

Siegas was initially timid, scared and very unsure of us but was quickly eating and sleeping well.  She easily trusts us now and realizes she is safe forever.  Once she knows you, she's great, although it may take a couple of minutes to assess you to ensure you'll love her (how could anyone not??)  The boys, Aurele and Yanic, were totally exhausted.  They slept almost constantly, waking only to eat and drink, then curled up together again for many more hours of rest.  This may be the only time in a very long time they had been safe, warm, had a good supply of food in their belly and could sleep without pain, discomfort or fear of predators.  They both appeared to be trusting and grateful - both purred when patted, and they also sometimes purred while sound asleep - that says so much.  Aurele was adopted on November 27, 2016 (see below) and Siegas went with him as a foster kitty.

On December 28, 2016, we learned that Siegas will now be a permanent family member of her foster family in Woodstock.  Her family has found her so loving and affectionate that they would like to keep her in their lives.  Congratulations, Siegas.  What a wonderful Christmas present!  We are SO happy for you!

"Flynn" came to us on November 6, 2016 along with his mom and siblings Kitler and Kylee (see above and below) when they were abandoned at the Carleton Co-Op Country Store in Florenceville, no doubt more unwanted victims of people who have not spayed or neutered their pets.  There used to be shelter and a cow barn where they might have been able to keep warm and find food, but those are long gone and the traffic in the area is very heavy and dangerous.

Thankfully, the kind and supportive staff of the Country Store offered to foster and care for these little ones.  Flynn was born about August 1, 2016, so was not even four months old - way too young to be left on his own.  He was perfectly healthy and sociable, so both he and his siblings belonged to someone at some point in the very recent past.  It's sad that they were abandoned at such a tender age.  We thank Bill Groves and his staff at the Carleton Co-Op Country Store for stepping up, taking responsibility and giving this family the care they need and deserve.  Flynn was fully vaccinated, neutered and raring and ready for a new home.

On December 23, 2016, he got his best wish.  He and his siblings, Kylee and Kitler (see below) were adopted by a family in Holmesville.  Congratulations!  What a wonderful Christmas present.  It's so nice that you get to stay together as a family.  Merry Christmas!!

"Kalijah" came to us on the morning of September 24, 2016 from the Newburg area where she had been noticed laying on the side of the road with one foot sticking straight out.  Her vet diagnosed her as having the right side of her pelvis broken and her right ankle badly dislocated.  With lots of rest, her pelvis healed well on its own.  Her ankle was straightened and bandaged and it, too, healed very well.  She is very fortunate to have been found and brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where the expertise she required abounds.

Kalijah was scared but she realized she was safe and always had a full belly, so she warmed up to us quite quickly.  She is a beautifully-coloured little girl who was born about June 24, 2016.  She was treated for fleas, vaccinated and spayed.  She purrs easily and hoped for a home where she can have lots of attention and hugs.  Her leg healed really well and she was anxious to learn what it was like to live in a home with a loving family.

On December 23, 2016, her dream came true.  She was adopted by a young lady from Woodstock where she'll be a friend for her new canine brother.  Kalijah loves to be cuddled and hugged, so her new life will be amazing!  Congratulations, Kalijah!  Don't forget to send us lots of photos as you grow!

"Torch" came to us on October 11, 2016 from the Perth-Andover area where he was a lone stray with no one to feed, shelter or care for him.  Someone finally realized his plight and brought him for help.  He was born about October 11, 2014.

Torch is a beautiful orange and white tom cat.  He had fleas but was in otherwise good health.  He is very much a cuddle cat who is happy to be indoors, fed and loved.  He has been neutered, tested for FIV and FeLV and vaccinated.  He is grateful to the lady who brought him and also for the more-than-generous donation that she brought to help pay for both his requirements and the needs of the many to come in the future, especially now that the cold weather is upon us.  Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated by all at DunRoamin'.  Torch lived in our General Population area with more than a dozen other cats with whom he got along very well.

On December 23, 2016, Torch was excited to learn that his dream was coming true.  He was invited to become a permanent member of a very nice family in Charlie Lake and to top things off, his friend Walter Chestnut (see below) got to come along too!!  He and Walter will be new best friends of Shelby, an ex-DunRoamin' dog.  Congratulations, Torch!  Send us lots of photos, okay?  We'll miss both you and Walter, but you've got it made now!!!  Merry Christmas!

"Walter Chestnut" came to us on December 4, 2015 from Hartland where he had been found laying in a snowbank on the side of the road in front of the Walter Chestnut Library.  He was not moving.

Walter was taken to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for help.  He was an intact male who was emaciated, dehydrated, had ear mites and had abrasions to his ears from scratching due to the itchiness and extreme discomfort the earmites had caused.  He also had infection in his eyes and both lower eyelids had entropion, a condition in which the eyelid is folded inward against the eye, resulting in possible corneal ulceration or perforation.  He underwent surgery to fix this problem and did very well.  He's put on a little weight and has realized that life is worth living again!  His eyes are perfect - no problem at all!  What a lucky little boy!

Walter is lovely.  He was very grateful to have a soft warm bed, a safe place to recover, lots of food and to be rid of the pain he must have experienced for way too long a time.  He has come a very long way and is now much better.  He hoped for a new home and family where he could spend the rest of his life showing them his gratitude.

On December 23, 2016, Walter hit the jackpot.  What a Christmas present!  He was chosen by a wonderful couple who already have a DunRoamin' dog, Shelby.  And to make it even better, his friend Torch (see above) got to go along with him!  Yahoo!  Merry Christmas, Walter!  Congratulations!

Meet "Sonic."  He came to us on November 23, 2016 from Grand Falls as a rescue from the SPCA.  They were unable to help him, so he came to us.    Sonic was diagnosed with ear mites, fleas and he was very thin.  In addition, his left front leg was paralyzed and he had sustained a partial traumatic amputation of his tail.  He's just a baby, born about September 8, 2016. 

We were not sure how this happened, but we were sure he would now be getting the very best of medical care from Dr Monteith at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He soon started purring up a storm, once he was warm, safe, had professional and compassionate vet care, pain medication and a full belly.  His purr is exceptionally loud and rough, making him sound like a little ungreased freight train!! 

Sonic was fostered by a very generous supporter, and we thank her for taking such good care of him while he waited and hoped for a permanent family for Christmas. 

On December 14, 2016, Sonic's left front leg was amputated due to the fact that it could not be repaired and would only cause problems as he has no feeling or control over it.  He has been doing just fine since his surgery and anxiously awaited a family who would love him and keep him safe for the rest of his life!

On December 23, 2016, he met that family.  He now lives in Fredericton with his new family and he couldn't be happier.  Neither could we!  Please remember to send lots of photos of you at Christmas and frequently afterward so we can watch you grow!  Merry Christmas, Sonic!

"Rizzo" originally came to DunRoamin' from Hartland on May 23, 2011, where he was a stray with an injured left hind leg.  He was also covered with an extremely huge number of ticks.  All his woes were treated and he was soon adopted by a very nice gentleman from Bath in July, 2011, but he later became unable to care for him, so on August 2, 2016, Rizzo came back to us.  He was born about August 1, 2010.

Rizzo is a beautiful boy.  He experienced some diarrhea but is now on medication which has sorted him out and he's doing very well.  He is a sweetheart who would like a human with whom he can sleep at night (and in the morning, and in the afternoon, and of course for naps in between!)  He is currently fostered by his best friend Archie and is awaiting a permanent home.  His diarrhea is well under control with just a little medication and he loves his foster family, including all his feline foster siblings.

On December 10, 2016, Rizzo received a wonderful Christmas present when he was invited to join his foster family permanently.  He now lives with nine other cats and his new dog, River.  He has two human servants who dote on him and his friends daily and he couldn't be happier.  And we couldn't be happier for him.  Congratulations, Rizz!  Way to go!!

"The Great Catsby" came to DunRoamin' on December 7, 2015 from the Woodstock area.  He was emaciated and had numerous wounds on his entire body which were at least several days, if not weeks, old.  He had been in pain for awhile.  It is estimated that he was born about December 7, 2012.

This little boy was in extremely serious condition.  He was not ready to quit, though, so neither were we.  He had the best possible care from his new vets and soon was able to begin eating on his own.  He received medication daily, laser treatment to help his wounds heal and all the ear and chin scratches that he desired (and that was a lot!!).

Catsby is grateful for the kind person who brought him for help and the compassion and skill of his vets which have made it possible for him to have this chance at becoming healthy, happy and getting a new and loving home. 

UPDATE:  As of February 28, 2016, Catsby was doing very well.  He was eating up a storm and walking well.  His skin was healing nicely and he loved to soak up all the love and attention he could get.  He still required some medication on some sites on his neck, but it healed up very well.  He deserves a very special home and we're hoping the person who deserves him will come for him soon.  

On December 10, 2016, Catsby got the most wonderful gift he could imagine.  He was invited to live permanently with his friends in Currie Siding.  No Christmas could possibly be better.  Thanks for caring for this guy - he finally got the best of everything!

"Vandal" came to us on April 23, 2016 from the Perth-Andover area where he was a stray who was injured and had no one to care for him.  He was born about October 27, 2013.

Vandal had injuries on his face and paws, all of which were quickly cleaned and medicated.  He received vaccinations and was neutered as well.  He is a very nice boy who is grateful to be safe and have plenty of nutritious food while his wounds heal.  Our experience with Vandal tells us he tolerates small dogs (hasn't met any large ones), he is independent, loves his personal living quarters and although he's shy at first, he warms up quickly once he knows you're a good person!  Right now we can certainly confirm he's a REALLY nice boy!  He loves to play with tinkle balls and give tiny love bites. 

On December 7, 2016, Vandal was officially welcomed into the family of a young man in Williamstown where he will be his new best friend.  He can't wait to meet the rest of the family - he's now a full-fledged member!  Congratulations, Vandal, don't forget to send pictures!

"Maxie" came to DunRoamin' on August 25, 2016 from the Kintore area where she had been part of a colony of 30 that we had been trying to help spay/neuter so that they would not continue to grow in numbers.  People were trying to feed and shelter this colony, but their large numbers made it difficult.  She was born about August 25, 2015.

While being assessed for her spay, it was noted that Maxie had polyps in her ear which were causing her pain.  As she couldn't go back to the colony in that condition and since she was very friendly, she became a ward of DunRoamin' so her injury could be addressed.   She is a very loving and affectionate little girl, not to mention BEAUTIFUL!  She eagerly awaits pats and cuddles with the dozen or more cats with whom she lives.

On December 6, 2016, Maxie was adopted by a young lady from Woodstock. She now has a new family and we look forward to hearing from her very often.  Have a great Christmas and a great new life, Maxie!

"October" arrived at DunRoamin' on October 8, 2016 from the Woodstock area where he had been found in a bush all alone.  His rescuers had searched for family members but none were to be found.  He appeared to have no one at all to care for him.  October was born about September 24, 2016, so was only about two weeks old.  He was mildly thin, hypothermic and moderately dehydrated.  A snuggle safe, some intravenous fluids and some delicious food was all it needed to start him on the road to being a happy and healthy little kitten.  He eats constantly - very happy to have all the nourishment he requires!

Thanks to his new foster mother, he quickly became a warm and cuddly friend for Astra and the two of them cuddled and spent the next few weeks getting good food, good care and great love!  Thanks, Mandy, for taking in yet another who needs you.

On December 2, 2016, October was adopted by a young couple from Debec.  He is very happy to have a permanent home with this family.  He thanks Mandy and Bryan for taking such good care of him, teaching him about love and allowing him to grow into the beautiful young cat who will be a precious and treasured member of his new family.  Congratulations, October.  Send lots of photos of you and your family.  Merry Christmas!

"Sherman", his sisters Candida, Hettie, Shane and brothers Evan and Devon all came to DunRoamin' on October 15, 2016 from Johnville where they had allegedly been found in a box on the doorstep of a camp.  The person delivering them threatened to shoot them if we did not take them.  Their mother was also brought with them, but escaped from the box and vehicle in which she was transported.  DunRoamin' has set live traps which were checked every few hours by caring volunteers in the hope of bringing her safely back to her babies, but as of this date have been unsuccessful.  The kittens were born about August 15, 2016

All kittens had fleas and were hungry and thirsty.  Shane and Sherman were very ill and we're sad to report that Shane did not survive.  All others appear to be healthy, loving, playful and affectionate little ones so have had some socialization with humans prior to being abandoned.  Sherman is completely pewter gray and has no tail, as he most probably is a Manx mix.

Sherman had dead skin around his scrotum and he was not able to pee.  This was a very serious condition and he would not have survived much longer, but thanks to skilled veterinary intervention at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic, he will be well taken care of.  Sherman must be stimulated to pee as he is unable to initiate this on his own.  Thankfully, he has a caregiver who is willing to help him with this several times each day. 

On December 2, 2016, Sherman decided he wanted to live with his caregiver permanently.  He loves her, her family and her home, so he's going to stay there forever!  What a nice Christmas present!  Thanks to his new family!  Merry Christmas, Sherman!

"Granger" came to DunRoamin' from the Hartland area on October 8, 2016.  He and his sister, Virtue (see above), were two of three kittens who were born to a mom who had been struck by a car and killed on the road the previous day.  With no mom to care for them, one sibling had passed away already and these two would not have lasted another 24 hours on their own.  They were born about September 17, 2016.

Granger and Virtue were very thin, starving, dehydrated and hypothermic.  Their body temperatures had to be warmed up before they could be fed and they were HUNGRY!!  They also needed to be stimulated to pee and poop and must be fed by syringe every few hours if they are to survive.

We'd like to thank Mandy who has generously offered to foster these little ones and ensure they get the medical care and nutrition they need to continue their fight for life.  Now that they have friends, they have a very good chance!  Stay tuned!

"Fire" and her brother Ice (see below) came to DunRoamin' in the early evening of November 13, 2016 from Perth-Andover.  They had been living under the deck of The Bistro for at least three days and were hungry, cold and scared.  No one would take them in.

A DunRoamin' supporter picked them up and transported them to us for help.  Fire was relatively healthy, although cold, hungry, scared, had parasites and was not spayed.  All these things were quickly addressed.  She was very happy to be warm and safe.  She is comfortable with small dogs - she's never met a big one that we're aware of, anyway.  She is a real cuddle cat and she loves to talk - very loudly, if you don't happen to be listening!

On November 26, 2016, Fire was adopted by a very nice family from Upper Brighton.  She'll be a new friend for three very nice children who love her already.  And for even more good news, her brother, Ice (see below) was adopted also, so they can stay together with their new family.  Congratulations!.

"Ice" and his sister Fire (see above) came to DunRoamin' in the early evening of November 13, 2016 from Perth-Andover.  They had been living under the deck of The Bistro for at least three days and were hungry, cold and scared.  No one would take them in.  Ice is aptly named - he was very, very cold.

A DunRoamin' supporter picked them up and transported them to us for help.  They were examined by a vet and it was determined that someone may have tried to neuter Ice without the skill, training, experience and medical equipment required.  He was in great discomfort, but he was quickly properly and professionally neutered and will receive all vaccines, good food, be tested for Feline Leukemia, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and be treated for parasites.  He's very grateful.

On November 26, 2016, Ice met a young family from Upper Brighton who welcomed both him and his sister Fire (see above) into their home.  We are so grateful they were fortunate to choose a family who wanted them to be able to stay together - they've never been separated!  Congratulations to everyone!  Please keep in touch!

"Fandral" and brother Heimdall (see below), his sister Freyja and brother Odin came to DunRoamin' on June 16, 2016 as rescues from the NBSPCA.  They were born about June 16, 2015 and although they had earmites, they were otherwise healthy.  They have received their full vaccines and have been neutered.  Fandral is perhaps the most outgoing of all, and that's saying a lot!

They are social, friendly and playful and obviously love each other, as they play, cuddle and sleep together.  We're hoping that they can go to homes in pairs because they are so obviously attached to each other.  Odin and Freyja found a home together on July 10, 2016. 

On November 24, 2016, Fandral and his brother Heimdall were very fortunate to meet a couple from Hartland who love animals and work very hard to support them in numerous ways.  They are now full-fledged, permanent members of this family.  Congratulations!  Send photos, boys!!

"Heimdall" and his sister Freyja and brothers Odin and Fandral came to DunRoamin' on June 16, 2016 as rescues from the NBSPCA.  They were born about June 16, 2015 and although they had earmites, they were otherwise healthy.  They have received their first set of vaccines so far and Heimdall has been neutered.

They are social, friendly and playful.  They are beautiful cats who obviously love each other as they play, cuddle and sleep together.  It was our hope that they could go to homes in pairs, and Freyja and Odin did so on July 10, 2016, a happy day for them.

On November 24, 2016, Heimdall and his brother Fandral (see above) became just as fortunate when they met a couple from Hartland who were originally interested in one cat, but could not bear the thought of separating these beautiful brothers.  We thank them for giving these two wonderful cats the home they have been dreaming of.  Please send updates and let us know how they're doing!

"Drift" came to DunRoamin' on August 28, 2016 from the Glassville area where he, his mom Dutch and sisters Axis and Spinner were strays.  They had no one to care for them.

Drift is a sweet little boy.  He was born about June 6, 2016.  He gets along very well with the five other cats with whom he lives and he loves to play with them.  He is very loving and affectionate and particularly seems to like little kids, although adults are his favourite also!  He says he has enough love for everyone!!

On November 22, 2016, Drift was adopted to a family in Bristol where he will be a new friend for three young boys and a five-year old feline friend also.  Congratulations, Drift!  Way to go!  Send lots of photos of you and your family, especially Christmas photos!!

"Hettie", her sisters Candida and Shane and her brothers Evan, Devon (both adopted) and Sherman all came to DunRoamin' on October 15, 2016 from Johnville where they had allegedly been found in a box on the doorstep of a camp.  The person delivering them threatened to shoot them if we did not take them.  Their mother was also brought with them, but escaped from the box and vehicle in which she was transported.  DunRoamin' has set live traps which were checked every few hours by caring volunteers in the hope of bringing her safely back to her babies, but has been unsuccessful.   The kittens were born about August 15, 2016.  Hettie, probably a Manx mix, has only about 3/4 of a tail.

All kittens had fleas and were hungry and thirsty.  Shane and Sherman were very ill and we're sorry to report that Shane did not survive.  All others appeared to be healthy, loving, playful and affectionate little ones so they had been socialized by humans prior to being abandoned.

On November 21, 2016, Hettie was so fortunate to be chosen as a family member of a couple in Monquart.  And to make her even happier, her sister Candida (see below) got to go with her!  Congratulations!!

On November 21, 2016, Candida was happy to learn that she would be the newest friend of a very nice couple in Monquart, and to make her even happier, her sister Hettie (see above) was invited to come live with them, too!!  Congratulations to all!

"Lucille" and her kittens Meryl, Depp, Reynolds, Serena, Patrick and Swayze came to us on the evening of May 22, 2014 from the Perth-Andover area where they had been living.  They were being fed by a gentleman but there were so many cats in the area that he was unable to do more than that.  They had such problems as eye infections, fleas, sinusitis and diarrhea.  One of their siblings had already died and the others really needed help.  We thank the gentleman who called to get this assistance for them.

All cats were brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic where their new vet evaluated and treated them until almost midnight before they were ready to be tucked into bed.  They had to be fed every few hours as most were not eating on their own.  It was determined they are from three different litters.  Lucille was born about November 20, 2012 and has had at least two litters so far.  She was a very loving and caring mother to her babies, but she was definitely overwhelmed.  On her first day with us her exhaustion was so great that she fell asleep while sitting up!  She eventually became very healthy, although she had to have her teeth removed, most probably because of poor nutrition in her early months and the trials of giving birth and feeding multiple litters of kittens.

On November 21, 2016, Lucille finally received her fondest wish.  She will now live with a loving family in Benton who will give her the life for which she has waited so long.  She is grateful for all her friends who cared for her over the past two and a half years at DunRoamin', but she is ecstatic to begin the next phase of her life - as a FULL-FLEDGED PERMANENT FAMILY MEMBER!!!   Yes!!!  Finally!!  Yahoooooo!!

On November 4, 2016, we learned that Evan and his brother Devon (see above) were chosen by a very nice lady to be new friends for her ex-DunRoamin' cat, Oscar, who was adopted in 2011.  Congratulations to everyone!  Hi, Oscar!!

Meet "Emm."  She and her two daughters, Bee and Double U came to us on August 27, 2012 when they were rescued from an abandoned home in Newburg in mid-August.  Their rescuer already had three cats of her own she was taking with her when she moved and couldn't take three more, but also couldn't leave them on their own.  She gave them food, shelter and love enough to show them that people were willing to help.  They had fleas, earmites and were happy to have food and a safe place to rest.  Emm was born about August 15, 2010.

Emm's kittens were adopted and she lived in a foster home until she came back to us in October, 2016.  She's now living with 14 other cats and gets along fine with them all.  By the way, Emm LOVES dogs!

On October 29, 2016, Emm met a young lady from Long Reach, near Saint John, NB and the rest is history!  She will be a new friend for a 16-year-old cat and she's very excited and grateful to have been chosen to be part of this family.  Thanks, Christie!

Meet "Hashtag."  He came to DunRoamin' on August 24, 2015.  He had been a stray who was living on the streets of Woodstock until a young lady took pity on him and brought him for help.  He was born about August 25, 2013 and he had infected ears and some itchy skin issues.  He was placed on a diet of Royal Canin Hypo-Allergenic food which has made a real difference for him. 

Hashtag was initially timid, but he quickly rounded the corner to complete cuddle bug!  He loves people and loves to be picked up, patted and hugged.  He's put on a little weight since he arrived and would love to be allowed to sit on your lap.  Please come meet him!

On October 29, 2016, Hashtag met a young couple from Johnville and he won them over.  He also got to take his best friend, Cronus, along (see below).  Congratulations, Hashtag!  We'll miss your Facebook articles but are VERY happy that you have a loving home.  Send lots of photos!

"Cronus" came back to DunRoamin' on January 29, 2016.  He originally came to DunRoamin' from Edmundston on February 12, 2015 where he was a stray who had frostbite on his ears, four of his teeth were fractured, he had an old fracture of his right hind toe and a recent three-centimeter open abscess on his left front leg.  He obviously needed help to change his life. 

All Cronus's injuries were addressed.  He was born about February 14, 2011.  On April 28, 2015, Cronus was adopted to a home in Northampton where he lived happily.  Unfortunately, his family had to move and could not take him with them, so he came back to us to find a new home.

Cronus was initially sad and unhappy, but soon settled in, finding that he had people who would love and care for him.  He was vaccinated and received a clean bill of health.  He's a codgey, handsome, loyal old tomcat who wants only to be a companion for someone who will share their love (and bed) with him.  He  loves being cuddled and sitting on a lap.  He loves to be patted on his head, neck and sides, but he's not so enamoured of being patted on his back!  He eats Royal Canin Hypo-Allergenic food and would do well as an only cat (if he got lots of attention) or with another cat to play tag with!  He and his best friend Hashtag love that!

On October 29, 2016, Cronus won the jackpot.  A very nice couple from Johnville fell in love with him and, not wanting to separate him from his best friend, adopted Hashtag as well (see above).  Congratulations, Cronus!  Send us lots of photos.  We will definitely miss you very much!  Especially Sarah and Lorna!

"Henry" originally came to us on September 28, 2012 from Perth-Andover.  He had urinary issues and his urethra had become obstructed for the second time and his family was no longer able to care for him.  Henry was prescribed a diet of Medi-Cal Urinary S/O food which has completely cured him.  We have several cats on this diet and have not had a recurrence of urinary problems in anyone once they changed their diet to this food.  Henry was adopted in December 2012 and did very well, but when his family acquired dogs who were jealous of him, he was returned to DunRoamin'. 

Henry has no issues at all and is an exceptionally beautiful boy.  He's very quiet and laid back - nothing fazes him.  He likes other cats, dogs (even if they don't like him) and he's happy just to be loved.  Henry was born about September, 2009.  He was fostered in Bath with several other cats and two dogs while he awaited that perfect family to recognize him as their next permanent family member.

On October 15, 2016, that is exactly what happened.  A young couple had been eyeing his handsome photo on this website and decided to take the plunge.  Henry loved them at first sight.  Thanks to Christina and Matt, Henry has already settled in to his new home where he enjoys his new best friend, Beau, a former DunRoamin' boxer we knew as Vegas.  Congratulations to everyone!  Please send family photos!!

Meet "Stannis."  Stannis came from the Hartland area on July 23, 2016 where he had inadvertently been boarded into a home that was going to be destroyed.  A week later someone observed him in a window and got the landlord to open the door to rescue him.

Stannis was born about July 23, 2013.  He was very scared, hungry and dehydrated.   He had parasites, including fleas, which were treated.  He was not yet neutered.  Stannis was initially quite nervous, but that diminished as he learned that he was among friends who will do their very best for him.  He was neutered and received all vaccinations and his dream was to live a life of luxury as a house cat where he will have food, warmth and friendship forever.

Update:  As of August 1, 2016, Stannis has come a very long way.  He eagerly awaits pats, head scratches and belly rubs.  He loves people and is happy to be loved in return.  He is a goofy old tom who will bring his new family hours of entertainment, love and dedication.  Stannis DOES NOT enjoy dogs, so he should go to a home with no canines.

On October 14, 2016, Stannis was delighted to move to his new home in Beechwood where he'll be an only pet for a nice lady who will give him the best life possible.  Congratulations, Stannis.  We look forward to hearing from you again very soon.

"Thora" came to us on April 22, 2015 from the NBSPCA when she was seized along with one other adult cat and 13 kittens.  All had ear mites, were thin and scared.  Thora was born about April 22, 2014.

Thora was initially scared but progressed very well with the love and security she obtained from her friends and caretakers at DunRoamin'.  She lived with a half dozen other cats and got along very well with them all.  She is a very sweet little girl wanted nothing more than a loving home. 

On October 7, 2016, Thora's dream became a reality.  She now lives in Florenceville with a very nice gentleman who will give her the life of which she has been dreaming.  Congratulations, Thora!  Send photos!!

"Nina" returned to DunRoamin' on June 13, 2016.  She and her four siblings originally came to DunRoamin' on June 2, 2015 from Lansdowne where they had been found in a box on the side of the road.  They were born about April 28, 2014.  She was adopted by a young lady and her daughter in Jacksonville on July 30, 2014.   This family returned on February 9, 2015 to adopt her brother, Spader (see below).  Nina and Spader were grateful to be reunited.

Unfortunately, a family member developed allergies so Nina and Spader returned to us to find a new home.  Nina is a beautiful little girl who enjoys children and she is particularly happy to get to sleep with a child - it's one of her favourite places to be!  She also loves to get in the tub when water is running!  She likes scratching posts, riding on your shoulder and also enjoys being picked up and carried around.  She's not all that keen on dogs, though.

On September 30, 2016, a gentleman from Bath attended DunRoamin' and Nina won his heart.  She will now live with him and give him hours of companionship, entertainment and love.  We thank this gentleman for giving her the perfect home.  We know she definitely has it made!! Congratulations, Nina!

"Easton" came to DunRoamin' on July 28, 2016 from Coldstream where he was discovered in the middle of the road by a lady driving home from work. Easton was born about June 17, 2016 and was all alone.

Easton was found to have earmites and was very week.  His eyes were infected with upper respiratory infection for which he was treated.  He received the best of food, medication, love and care he required from Dr Monteith's Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and Easton quickly became healthy again.  He is a very attentive kitten who is small for his age.  He purrs, head butts and loves to be cuddled and patted.  He wants nothing more than to be someone's cat.  His favourite place seems to be on someone's shoulder!

On September 30, 2016, Easton was welcomed into the home of a very special lady who will give him the perfect loving home.  Easton is now a brother for three other cats, two of whom are ex-DunRoamin' cats, Lonnie and Lorcan (now Ollie and Ash).  Congratulations, Easton!  Send lots of photos!  Thanks, Leslie!!

"Spinner," her mom, Dutch, and her two siblings, Drift and Axis, came to us on August 29, 2016 from Gordonsville where they had come to a home as strays.  The people in the home were unable to keep them.  Dutch was born about August 29, 2013.  Her babies were born about June 6, 2016.

Dutch was thin but healthy enough to feed her babies.  She had an old injury on her ear and her kittens all had ulcers on the roofs of their mouths, but they healed nicely with a little medical care.  They were friendly but still needed some socialization to let them know that they were safe.  All were fostered by a kind lady in Upper Brighton until they went to permanent homes.  Thanks, Kate! 

On September 30, 2016, Spinner was adopted by a young man from Hartland.  She will live happily ever after as a well-loved pet.  And we'll hear about her constantly, as her new father has kindly offered to volunteer his time to help us care for all our other cats.  Thanks so much for adopting this sweet little girl and joining our team!

"Rally" came to DunRoamin' on March 8, 2012 from the Oakland area where she had been abandoned when her owner moved away.   Neighbours had tried to catch her for several days, but she was terrified. They had a difficult time, but they did not give up. They finally were successful in catching her and brought her for help. Rally was born about March 1, 2011.

Rally was very sick with a bad upper respiratory infection.  Her breathing sounded very wet and she struggled for air.  Her eyes were also infected. Since she could not smell, she would not eat and it was necessary to force feed her with a syringe.  Regardless of all her troubles, she kneaded and purred - well aware that she was getting the help she needed.   She quickly became well again with the medication, food and love that she received.

She was fostered with one of our DunRoamin' Kids where she kneaded and purred constantly if a human was within touching distance!  She loves kids, dogs and other cats and is very playful, although timid at first.

On September 23, 2016, Rally was adopted by her foster family and now lives permanently in Woodstock.  Congratulations, Rally!  Have a great time!

"Curtis" came to DunRoamin' from the Woodstock area on August 25, 2016.  He is a vocal, playful, affectionate and happy little boy who would like to have a safe and loving home. 

On September 20, 2016, he was adopted by the kind family of Ethan and Arkin, former DunRoamin' strays.  Now known as Bruce Springsteen, he'll be the second vocal family member!  Keep talkin', Curtis!

"Mel Gibson" came to DunRoamin' on May 21, 2016 from Woodstock.  His mom had been hit by a car and ran off.  He was left all alone.  Mel was born about April 21, 2016.  As you can see from the photo, he loves dogs!  They're soft, comfy, cozy and toasty warm!  Mel is a sweetheart who is anxiously awaiting a loving and permanent home. 

On September 18, 2016, he got his wish.  He is now part of a loving family in Woodstock where his new best friend is a canine.  He LOVES dogs!  Congratulations, Mel!

"Hermey" came to DunRoamin' from Jacksonville on December 18, 2015.  He had a head tilt to the right and his ear was discharging pus, a condition which had been ongoing for some time.   He had an inflammatory polyp in his middle ear which required surgery to drain the discharge in an attempt to ensure he becomes 100% healthy again!

Hermey was born about December 18, 2012 and has black fur with individual white hairs throughout, giving him a unique "salt and pepper" look.  He loves people and is extremely affectionate - loves to be picked up, head butts and purrs up a storm.  He can be a bit timid around other cats, but loves kittens and dogs.  He has undergone surgery for his ear problems and is doing much better, thanks to care and medication. 

Sadly, on February 4, 2016, we learned that Hermey has been diagnosed with kidney failure.  He is receiving all required medical treatments and is doing well.  As of February 6, 2016, he is fostered by a caring young couple in Woodstock where he'll get all the love and attention he can soak up for as long as he possibly can.  It seems his affinity for dogs is an asset, too - check him out with his brother: 

As of September 16, 2016, Hermey is now a permanent family member and a resident of Woodstock.  We can't express our gratitude enough to his kind mother.  He finally got exactly what he deserves!

"Victory" came to us on August 15, 2016 from Woodstock where she had been attacked by a dog.  Her owner was unable to undertake the medical care she required.

Victory was born on April 27, 2016.  She had some trauma to her head and quickly underwent medical care.  She was well-cared for 24 hours a day by a loving vet tech - thank you so much.

We're hoping Victory will live up to her name - she's going to be fine if the amount of love she is getting has anything to do with it! 

UPDATE:  As of August 20, 2016, her foster mother reported that Victory was eating on her own, purring, kneading and being a sweet, loving kitten. Victory has a head tilt and some facial paralysis still but that doesn't slow her down at all. 

On September 16, 2016, Victory met a lady from Elmwood who fell completely in love with her.  She is now a permanent member of her family!  Congratulations, Victory!  Send lots of photos - we'd love to watch you grow up!

"Raina" came to DunRoamin' on the late evening of June 5, 2016 when she was heard meowing near DunRoamin'.  A search revealed her hanging around a building, but she was not willing to be trusting.  She was initially very scared, but coaxing with some warm and smelly food brought her near enough to catch, because she was very hungry.

We believe Raina to be the mom of Riddle, Rival and Random who were abandoned in a box outside DunRoamin's door two days previously.  It appeared that Raina may have escaped the box before it was discovered.  We're hoping that all her kittens remained inside the box and were now safe with us.  She had been without food or shelter during these wet days and was happy to be inside where she's safe, warm and fed.  She was overjoyed at being reunited with her kittens as they were still of nursing age and needed their momma.  She purred and cooed, obviously overwhelmed with happiness at having her babies back.  We're grateful that she had stayed safely in the area and was able to be with her family.  Raina was born about June 5, 2015.

On June 8, 2016, she was introduced to Valentina, Tatiana, Alia, Paolo and Fabio, five motherless kittens.  She immediately began to bathe and faun over them.  She took good care of them as a surrogate mom until they were old enough to be on their own.  Thank you, Raina, you're wonderful!

On September 10, 2016, Raina met a very nice lady from Fredericton and they immediately took to each other.  Congratulations on your new home, Raina.  Please don't forget to send photos and updates to your DunRoamin' friends.

"Jaya" and her sister Brynn and brother Landin were found under a tarp in Victoria Corner on May 18, 2016.  They were born about May 8, 2016.  They appeared to be healthy little ones and they soon were playing, purring and cavorting as little kittens do.  No mom was found with them, so they were all on their own. 

Jaya is a sweet, playful little girl. She is beautifully marked and she keeps us smiling all day with her kitten antics!  Her siblings were both adopted and she patiently waited her turn. 

On September 6, 2016, she decided that she wanted to live permanently with her new family in Jacksonville where she is a little sister for former DunRoamin' stray, Jaime.  They'll be the best of friends!  Congratulations!

 

"Mimi" came to us on the morning of June 15, 2016, from the Bath area where she had been found in a field the night before.  A couple visiting from the Yukon had heard her meowing and spent an hour trying to locate her.  When they did, they found her to be cold, damp, scared and very hungry.  They took her in for the night but since they are from so far away, could not keep her.  They left a generous donation to help cover her costs and are telling all their friends about her!  She'll have lots of support!

Mimi was born about April 27, 2016.  She was given a nice warm, safe bed and some nutritious food.  She was assessed by our vet and found to be in good shape, despite her ordeal of being left all alone.  She is a very cute, playful, energetic little girl who wants nothing as much as she wants her very own family!

On August 28, 2016, she finally got her wish!  She now lives with a young family in Oromocto where she'll grow up with three other cats and four young girls.  Congratulations, Mimi.  Please send lots of photos.  We'll miss you and look forward to seeing you grow!

This is "Dixie."  She came to us on July 28, 2016 from Pembroke, NB where she was found with her two sisters, Natalie and Martie.  They were born about June 16, 2016, so were still too young to be without their mom, but she was not to be found.

Dixie and her siblings were timid, had fleas and were mildly thin.  Their eyes were infected with upper respiratory infection and they also had sinusitis.  All these concerns were treated and they were all anxious to have a home of their very own.

On August 26, 2016, we learned that the very nice lady who adopted Martie (see below) thought that Martie should have company and that Dixie should not be alone.  Thank you SOOO much!  Dixie and Martie are very grateful to be able to stay together and have such a wonderful home and family.  We look forward to hearing all about their antics as they grow!  Congratulations to all!

"Catalie Portman" came to DunRoamin' on January 29, 2016 from the Woodstock area where she had been seized by the NB SPCA from an abandoned apartment along with her friend Cat Benatar who has already been adopted.  Her options for life were very limited so they came to us for help.  Catalie was born about February 1, 2011 and is a beautiful shiny pewter grey which helps display her beautiful yellow eyes.  She had mild tartar on her teeth and earmites which have been treated.  Otherwise, she's a beautiful and shiny little girl!

Initially scared and hissy, Catalie learned very quickly that she is now a ward of DunRoamin' where nothing bad will ever happen to her again.  She has been spayed, vaccinated, treated for parasites and will be loved and cared for until we find the perfect family who will take over those responsibilities.  She will then have the life she dreams of and deserves. 

On August 23, 2016, her dream came true.  She was adopted by a very nice lady from Simonds where she will be a new friend for two other ex-DunRoamin' cats.  Have a great time!  Send us lots of pictures!!

This is "Natalie."  She came to us on July 28, 2016 from Pembroke, NB where she was found with her two sisters, Martie and Dixie.  They were only about six weeks old, born about June 16, 2016, so were still too young to be without their mom, but she was not to be found.

Natalie and her siblings were timid, had fleas and were mildly thin.  Their eyes were infected with upper respiratory infection and they also had sinusitis.  All these concerns were treated and they were ready for a home!

On August 21, 2016, Natalie was adopted by a nice lady from Florenceville where she'll be a friend for her other cat.  Congratulations, Natalie!  Please send us photos and tell us all about the wonderful time you're having with your new family!

This is "Martie."  She came to us on July 28, 2016 from Pembroke, NB where she was found with her two sisters, Natalie and Dixie.  They were born about June 16, 2016, so were still too young to be without their mom, but she was not to be found.

Martie and her siblings were timid, had fleas and were mildly thin.  Their eyes were infected with upper respiratory infection and they also had sinusitis.  All these concerns were quickly treated and they began to get better day by day.  Martie had the hardest time of the three little ones and had to be fed by syringe to help her get over that little bump so she could eat on her own and become healthy, which she has done.  She would like to thank her friend, Sarah, for her help to become healthy.  She's quite the singer, now!

On August 18, 2016, Martie was adopted by a very nice lady from Florenceville where she'll be the only pet.  Congratulations, Martie!  Please remember to stay in touch and send lots of photos so we can watch as you grow.

"Spader" returned to DunRoamin' on June 13, 2016.  He and his four siblings originally came to DunRoamin' on June 2, 2015 from Lansdowne where they had been found in a box on the side of the road.  They were born about April 28, 2014.  Spader was fortunate to be adopted by a young lady and her young daughter in Jacksonville on February 9, 2015, where his sister Nina was already a family member.   Nina and Spader were grateful to be reunited.

Unfortunately, a family member developed allergies so Nina and Spader returned to us to find a new home.  They'd like to have a home together, if at all possible.  They are both sweet cats who enjoy children.  Spader likes dogs, hard crunchy treats and scratching posts. 

On August 18, 2016, Spader was welcomed as the newest member of his new family in  Mapledale.  He will now live with a very nice lady and her young son.  Congratulations, Spader!  Send lots of pictures!!

"Brynn" and her sister Jaya and brother Landin (see below) were found under a tarp in Victoria Corner on May 18, 2016.  They were born about May 8, 2016. They appeared to be healthy little ones.

Brynn is very cute and cuddly and loves to play with her siblings and with toys of her own while her siblings sleep.  She is exceptionally cuddly and loves other cats, people and dogs.

On August 10, 2016, Brynn was adopted by a family in Odell, where she'll be a friend for their other cat.  Congratulations, Brynn!  Don't forget to write lots of letters and send photos, too!  We'd like to see you as you grow up!

"Landin" and his sisters Jaya and Brynn were found under a tarp in Victoria Corner on May 18, 2016.  They were born about May 8, 2016. They appeared to be healthy little ones.

Landin is a very sweet, affectionate and loving boy.  He loves to cuddle, purr and play with his sisters.  He has no problem at all with dogs, especially since he knows cats are superior!!!

On August 8, 2016, Landin met a young lady from Fredericton who had fallen in love with his picture.  It took her no time at all to realize he was twice as wonderful as she had thought, so Landin is now her new best friend.  Please send lots of photos and updates!  We'll all miss you, Landin! Write soon!

"Paolo" and his four siblings came to DunRoamin' on the evening of May 27, 2016 from Newbridge.  Their mom had been found dead and they had no one to care for them.  They were born on May 18, 2016.

Paolo and his family would like to thank Dr Monteith for coming in after hours after a very long and hard work week to ensure that they were safe, healthy and that their new caregivers were properly briefed on the care required by these little ones.  They had to be fed by syringe every few hours and stimulated to pee and poop until they were able to do so on their own.  We thank Archie and Lorna for stepping up and taking over the role of mom for these very fortunate little ones.

On August 7, 2016, Paolo was chosen, along with his sister Tatiana (see below), as the two newest members of a family in Beechwood.  They'll have three young children to entertain them and play with and they're very happy to be able to stay together.  Thank you!

On August 6, 2016, Alia was happy to report that she confirmed that her new home was WONDERFUL!  She is the new best friend of a young lady in Moncton and she's very pleased to have such a great home.  Congratulations, Alia.  Please send lots of photos so your foster family can see how you grow.  They miss you!

"Cornelia" came to us from the Meductic area on July 9, 2016 when she was found by some people near their back yard.  Cornelia appeared to have a broken front left leg. 

Examination by our vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic determined that she had no break, but nerve damage to her leg allowed her to have little control and feel no pain in that foot so she was unable to walk properly on it.  She also had upper respiratory infection which was treated and she was soon fine.  Cornelia was born about May 9, 2016 and she is a cute, energetic, loving little kitten who is grateful to have found new friends to care for her.  She also had a slight hernia, but that was repaired very quickly and easily.

Update:  28 Jul 16 - Cornelia is walking fine on her leg now and it appears she will be just fine.  She's a loving little girl who would really love to have a home!

On August 5, 2016, Cornelia was chosen by a nice young man and his mom to be a new friend for Fender, another DunRoamin' kitten who was adopted September 13, 2015.  Now they'll all be best friends!  Congratulations, Cornelia!  Hi, Fender!

"Rennick" came from Waterville on March 11, 2016.  He required dental surgery, but his family could not undergo the expense.  Rennick was born about April 18, 2004, so is about 12 years old.  He was a little shy and nervous, but who wouldn't be after leaving their home?  He underwent surgery and was quickly feeling much better.  Now that the pain is gone, he's a loving, affectionate little boy who loves to roll on his back for a belly rub!

Rennick hopes for someone to ask him to spend the rest of his life with them.  He's a very nice boy who would be more than happy to sleep next to a human, a nice warm fire or another cat.  He was treated for a urinary infection but he's fine now!  He has the most expressive eyes and they're a bright gold! 

On July 9, 2016 Rennick was offered a foster home by a young lady who thought they might be excellent friends. 

On July 27, 2016, Rennick officially declared his foster home as his permanent place of residence!  He will enjoy chasing toys up and down the hall and delight the new family he has chosen!  Congratulations, Rennick!  Way to go!!

"Harvest" came to us on June 23, 2016 from the Plaster Rock area where she was a stray who was hanging around a farm.  Some neighbours were upset to observe her being injured by a windrower as the farmers were working the fields.  She was the mother of two young kittens who were also living in the area.  She was brought to us for medical help and the two kittens were rescued by a nice lady and will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and given a good home.

Harvest had sustained injuries on her right hind leg which were treated immediately.  She was happy to be warm, safe, pain free and cared for.  She is a beautiful little girl who enjoys company and the help she has been provided.  Her leg healed perfectly.

On July 22, 2016, Harvest was adopted by the lady who had rescued her two kittens and they were very happy to be reunited.  No more foraging in the dangerous fields for you, Harvest!  We're glad you're back with your kittens and have a loving protective family.  Congratulations.

Meet "Mattea."  She came from near Coldstream on June 22, 2016 where she had apparently been a stray who had an injured left front leg.  She had no one to care for her.  Mattea was born about June 22, 2015.

Mattea was grateful to be examined by a veterinarian who learned that she had an infected wound over her left shoulder, was lean, dehydrated, had a bad case of ear mites and was exhausted and hungry.  She displayed pain in her left shoulder and was not bearing weight on her left front leg, so an x-ray was taken to help diagnose her injury which did not disclose significant results.  She was prescribed pain medication and antibiotics and scheduled for re-xray in two weeks.  At that time it was determined that her front left leg required amputation.  She underwent that surgery and is now fine.  She is a sweet little girl who loves people and can't wait to have a permanent loving family.  Eighteen Wheels and A Dozen Roses will get you there, Mattea!

On July 19, 2016, Mattea was chosen by our very good friends in the Miramichi to be a new friend for Winchester who was adopted on April 25, 2016 (see below).  Winchester had his right front leg amputated, so he will be the perfect friend for Mattea, now known as Maya.  We thank this wonderful family for all their support and for the joys of family that you share. Maya will now join ex-DunRoamin' strays Boulder (Nelson), Reddi (Finnigan), Lucy, and Winchester and the rest of their four-legged, three-legged and two-legged family.  Thank you so much!

"Zack" came to DunRoamin' on June 30, 2016 from the Mount Pleasant area where he had been found by a kind gentleman who recognized his need for medical assistance.  He had been found all alone in a field and he had an upper respiratory infection so bad that his eyes were sealed shut and he could not see.  He was completely defenceless and unable to fend for himself, find food, water, shelter or any other basic need.

Zack was prescribed medication and we're happy to report that he's doing just fine.  As of Day 4, his eyes were wide open and he was acting like a normal kitten again - and that means BAD!!  He's very loving and playful and he loves to purr when he's held.  Zack thanks the gentleman who rescued him and of course, he wouldn't be this well again without his favourite new vet!  Thank you!

On July 15, 2016, Zack was adopted by his new family which includes two young children who love him already!  And Zack, now known as Reuben, is happy to have someone to play with all day long!  Congratulations, Reuben!  Send lots of photos and updates!!

"Crysis" came to DunRoamin' on May 3, 2016 from the Hartland area where a kind couple had taken her in last fall when she came to their door asking for help.  She had given birth to five kittens on March 24, 2016, all of whom have since found homes.  Unfortunately, both of her caretakers experienced severe medical conditions and could no longer care for Crysis and her babies.

Crysis was born about November 3, 2014.  She is a very nice little girl who was a great mom.  We thank Archie for stepping up and offering a foster home for her and her family.  You are greatly appreciated.

Crysis is a very loving and affectionate cat who talks constantly and is the first to greet a human at the door, asking for attention and love.  She waited patiently for that perfect person to walk through the door, and . . .

. . . on July 10, 2016, he returned to take her home.  She had fallen in love with him on his first visit and she was ecstatic to see him again.  Crysis and her friend Auricle (see below) are both the newest members of their family in Nackawic.  Congratulations!!

"Auricle" came to DunRoamin' from the Weston area on March 12, 2016.  She had wandered into a dooryard and the lady saw that she needed medical help.  She had injuries on her ears, paw pads and the tip of her tail.  She was also skinny and dehydrated.  She quickly received all the medical care she required.

Auricle was born about May 15, 2013.  Despite her physical condition, she purred up a storm.  She's a real sweetheart.  She's 100% healthy, definitely happy and ready for a home.  She is the first to roll, head butt and climb on your lap when you enter.  She's very social and playful.

On July 10, 2016, Auricle was chosen, along with her friend Crysis (see above) by a lovely couple from the Nackawic area to be their two newest family members.  They join two young kittens who will be delighted to have lots of company.  Congratulations!!

"Braveheart"came to DunRoamin' from the Fredericton area on May 22, 2016.  He was itchy and had scars on his shoulders.  He was a little tense at first, but has since relaxed, knowing that he has a great place as a temporary home on the way to finding a permanent family.  He was already neutered.  Braveheart tested positive for FIV.  He also may be allergic, so was prescribed a hypo-allergenic diet to see if that helps.  It certainly did, and he's now fine.

Braveheart was born about May 22, 2014.  He has a great personality and is looking forward to meeting his new humans.  He is "polydactyl," meaning he has extra toes on his front paws.  He's REALLY cute!

On July 9, 2016, Braveheart moved to The Ark Animal Sanctuary in Houlton where he'll spend some time with some other FIV cats until that perfect person walks through the door to claim him as their permanent new family member.  He can't wait, and we're sure it's going to be very soon with his personality!

** FIV is contagious to other cats through blood and saliva.  It is reasonably difficult to spread, however, and now believed to be mostly spread through deep bite wounds.  Obviously it would be ideal if FIV-positive cats only lived with other FIV-positive cats, but currently some of the large rescue centers in the US have been studying multi-cat households with FIV-positive cats living with FIV-negative cats and have so far found the risk to the non-FIV cats to be very small, assuming that the cats are all spayed/neutered and used to living in groups (ie:  not as likely to fight).

On July 9, 2016, Reidun moved to The Ark Sanctuary in Houlton where he will find a safe, warm and caring home on a farm with a barn where he can feel safe and be cared for as care is needed.  In the meantime, he'll be free to live his life in a safe environment and have the opportunity to have lots of food and medical attention should he require it.  We'd like to thank Lorraine once again for her assistance in helping these cats.  We are very grateful.

Rival was initially relatively content to be with us.  She was slightly standoffish, but who would expect less after what she's been through?  She was fostered, along with her siblings, by a wonderful foster family in Perth-Andover where they all received the best of love and care.

On June 30, 2016, Rival and her sister Riddle (see above) met a very nice lady and her four children.  Rival was very happy to learn that she and Riddle are now permanent family members of this wonderful family.  They will now reside in Upper Queensbury.  Thank you so much for adopting them both!  Please send lots of photos!

Random is the most outgoing of his siblings.  He is the first to stick his nose into anything and shows no sign of shyness.  He was the very first to purr and he'll be the first to figure things out and probably the first to demand whatever he happens to think he wants!  He's very cute!!  He is currently staying with friends in Perth while he gains some weight and gets ready to go to his very own home.

On June 21, 2016, Random was chosen as the newest best friend of a young lady who is helping DunRoamin' for the summer.  He will live happily ever after with her.  Please remember to send lots of photos, Random!  Congratulations!

"Mandarin" came to DunRoamin' on April 27, 2016 from the Avondale area where he had apparently been struck by a car.  He had injuries on his head and face and also had upper respiratory infection.  He was born about October 27, 2015.

Mandarin is a very sweet little Boy.  He's very affectionate and not scared at all - perhaps he belonged to a family at some point.  He is looking forward to a new one where he'll be loved and cared for. 

As of his second week with us, Mandarin was happy, healthy and a real going concern.  He loved to be patted, brushed, hugged, held - and he'll make sure you know it!  He's ALLLL personality!  He's awesome!!  Because of his outgoing and loving personality he was chosen to visit the students of Carleton North Senior High School where he and his friend Cat Benatar introduced themselves to students and staff and helped relieve the stress of exams by their playful and loving presence!  Thanks to Vice Principal Stephenson, Mrs Kilfoil and all of CNSHS for having them - they had a blast!

On June 17, 2016, Mandarin and his friend Cat (see below) were adopted by a young lady from Woodstock who had recently moved into a new home and was waiting to get settled before bringing them home.  They are grateful to be adopted together and will live happily together ever after.  Congratulations!  Send us lots of photos!

"Cat Benatar" came to DunRoamin' on January 29, 2016 from the Woodstock area where she had been seized by the NB SPCA from an abandoned apartment along with her friend Catalie Portman.  Their options for life were very limited, so they came to us for help.  Cat was born about July 1, 2015, so was still just a kitten.  Other than having fleas, she was relatively healthy.  She loved her food and was happy to know that it will always be there.  She also likes dogs and will swipe at their tails through her kennel doors as they walk by!

Even though she was abandoned to fend for herself in an empty apartment, Cat holds no grudge against humans.  She's just happy to have found a group of people who will take responsibility for her, keep her warm, safe, fed and pay her bills! 

Cat is very loving and attentive and her bright orange colours match the beauty of her personality - they say female orange tabbies are a little more rare, so she's definitely a gem!  Because of her outgoing and loving personality she was chosen to visit the students of Carleton North Senior High School where she and her friend Cat Benatar introduced themselves to students and staff and helped relieve the stress of exams by their playful and loving presence!  Thanks to Vice Principal Stephenson, Mrs Kilfoil and all of CNSHS for having them - they had a blast!

"Annette" came to DunRoamin' on May 26, 2016 from the Bath area where it was believed she had been injured when she was found on the road.  A DunRoamin' supporter brought her for help.

Annette was found to be very skinny but appeared to have no serious injuries.  She was born about August 1, 2015.  She is a very loving and cuddly cat who apparently has had much human contact in her short 10-month life, because she really does love humans!  Annette was fed a delicious and nutritious diet to increase her weight to an acceptable level.  She appears very happy to be warm, safe and have a full belly.  She would make an excellent friend for someone who wants a definite cuddle cat.

On June 14, 2016, Annette met a young lady with whom she fell in love.  She head butted, purred and walked around her, then climbed onto her lap and sat down.  There's no question here, she has claimed her new family!  Congratulations to Lucy and Tess who have a new feline friend!  Thanks to her new family for adopting her!  Send lots of photos, Annette!

"Sergio" originally came to us from Perth-Andover on April 11, 2014 as a stray who had an injury to his left ear which had become badly infected.  He also was unneutered, had ear mites and fleas and tested positive for FIV**.  On February 27, he went to a new home in Woodstock but was returned on May 13, 2015 due to allergies in the household.

Sergio is a beautiful boy who wants nothing more than to have a family of his own where he can live happily ever after.  He is a real cuddle bug.  He lived with his friend Gerard who also has FIV, but they are both perfectly healthy.  It was their greatest wish (and ours!) that they might get a home together.  Both these boys are more than affectionate and want only to be with humans who will love them back.

On June 13, 2016, everyone's wish came true!  Sergio and his friend Gerard (see below) were adopted by a kind couple who had met them when they attended  an adoption fair with their friends at Pet Valu, Woodstock.  They now live in Peel where they have a new canine friend and three feline friends, as well as their very own humans who will wait on them hand and paw.  We're so happy they got to go together to such a wonderful home!  Thanks to everyone at Pet Valu for giving them this opportunity to meet such great people!  We appreciate your support!

"Gerard" came to us on November 9, 2012 from the Centreville area when he was dropped off by an irate lady who, although she had had him for about six months, no longer wanted him.  She abandoned him at DunRoamin'.  With subsequent testing Gerard proved positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).   As FIV is potentially contagious, most often transmitted by deep bite wounds, Gerard would like to be an only cat, or perhaps live with another FIV+ cat, although current research says he'd be fine in a family of other cats as long as they don't fight, and Gerard is definitely a lover, not a fighter!  Please read about FIV below.

Gerard was born about November, 2010 and is a very sweet boy. He's very affectionate and loves nothing more than to have some attention paid to him. He participated as part of our Cats For Seniors program and now he lives with his best friend, Sergio (see above).  His favourite place to be is on someone's lap or at least laying beside them being patted!

"Pepsi" came to DunRoamin' from a shelter on May 16, 2016.  She was born about March 15, 2016, so was only a couple of months old.  Unfortunately, a computer monitor had fallen on her and she sustained injury.  She was taken to a shelter but they were unable to care for her.

Pepsi was accepted by DunRoamin' and was assessed by her vet as follows:  an x-ray revealed that she had no fracture, but although she had some movement in her hind end, she could not stand or walk.  She also couldn't pee or poop on her own so needed help with this from her foster mother who has great experience with kittens with this type of affliction.  We are grateful to her foster mom, as she is also.

We're hoping that Pepsi will improve as she gets the care and attention she requires.  A compassionate and ingenious young man has built her a wheelchair to help her get around for the time being.  She thanks all who have had a part in helping her have a good life.  As you can easily tell from the photos, she's growing into a beautiful young cat with a great personality.

On June 4, 2016, we learned that Pepsi will be a permanent family member of her foster mother and she will receive ongoing medical and emotional care that she deserves.  She is growing into a beautiful little cat who is grateful for all the joys that have been bestowed upon her!

"Walton" came to DunRoamin' on May 25, 2016 from lower Hartland where he was found on the side of the road.  He was only born about three weeks ago - around May 4, 2016.  Walton was all alone with no one to care for him.

Walton was brought for help where it was determined that he was a healthy little boy.  He's very cute and playful.  He's hoping that now he will have the opportunity to have a loving family with whom to live forever!

On June 3, 2016, his hopes and dreams came true when he was adopted by a young lady from Ashland.  Congratulations, Walton!  Have a great life!

"Knight" came to DunRoamin' along with his brother Token and sister Asia on April 16, 2016 from the Woodstock area.  They had been found all alone and their rescuers could not care for them.  They were picked up by a DunRoamin' supporter and cared for until they were old enough to go to homes.  Unfortunately, Token was not able to survive.  Their mom was subsequently located trapped in some duct work and was returned to her babies to care for them.

On June 2, 2016, Knight was adopted by a young lady from Halifax who had seen his photo and fallen deeply in love!  Knight is forever grateful to his foster family for caring for him and his siblings and giving him the love and support he needed to become a loving family member.  Thanks, Mandy.  Send lots of photos, Knight!!

"Asia" came to DunRoamin' along with her brothers Knight and Token on April 16, 2016 from the Woodstock area.  They had been found all alone and their rescuers could not care for them.  They were picked up by a DunRoamin' supporter and cared for until they were old enough to go to homes.  Unfortunately, Token was not able to survive.  Their mom was subsequently located trapped in some duct work and was returned to her babies to care for them.

On June 2, 2016, Asia was adopted by a young lady from Florenceville.  She is forever grateful to her foster family for caring for her and giving her the love and support she needed to become a loving family member.  Thanks, Mandy!

"Nigh" and "Tiombi" and their mom and four siblings came to DunRoamin' on May 3, 2016, from the Hartland area where a kind couple had taken in her mom last fall.  Her mom had become pregnant and gave birth to five little kittens on March 24, 2016.  Due to medical issues, the couple was no longer capable of caring for her and her babies.

Tiombi is an African name which means "one who is shy," and although she initially was, that changed quickly.  She loves to play with her siblings and she's very happy to have the honour and pleasure of being fostered by a fantastic couple in Perth-Andover. 

Nigh is very friendly and outgoing.  She's the first one to play and the first one to catch your eye when a human enters her domain.  Then she just wants to play!  She is grateful to her foster family for having this chance to grow up with lots of love and care and both she and her sister Tiombi would like to express their gratitude to Archie for all his love and care.

On June 2, 2016, their new father travelled all the way from Toronto to take them home where they will be forever loved by two compassionate humans and two small dogs.  Thanks for your loyalty and friendship!  Nigh and Tiombi will be forever grateful, as are we!  Please send lots of photos and keep 'em coming!!

 

"Tess" originally came to us on September 6, 2013 from Limestone, NB, where she had been found.  She was born about April 1, 2013 and had sustained too many injuries in her short life.  Female orange tabbies are a little more rare to find, so she's pretty special for more than one reason!

The tip of Tess's tail was dead and infected and had to be amputated, leaving a one-inch stub.  She had a bad eye infection and she was dehydrated.  She also had a tumour growing in her ear and throat.  This was removed and tests proved it was not cancerous, but her other injuries were serious and required much skill by her vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  After all this medical assistance, Tess decided she'd be fine!  On December 8, 2013, Tess was adopted by a senior citizen in Woodstock, but her kitten antics proved too much for her so she came back to us to find a new home on January 6, 2014.

Tess is a typical fun-loving and energetic kitten who goes straight out until she sleeps!  She's outgrown most of this, but she's still pure entertainment!  Who needs a TV when you have Tess to entertain you?

On May 21, 2016, Tess was invited into the home of a young couple who already have one DunRoamin' cat, Luna.  She will be the new best friend of Luna (previously "Flurry", adopted December 8, 2014) and a little girl who loves her already.  Congratulations, Tess!  Write soon!  Thanks, Heidi!

"April"  came to DunRoamin' from Woodstock on April 5, 2016.  Her owner was concerned that she had been feeding her but she was not putting on weight and was not acting like she felt well.  Her owner could not keep her, so she was accepted by DunRoamin' so she could get the medical assistance she required.

April is a beautiful, healthy little girl who was born about October 5, 2015, so she was just a kitten.  She was happy, playful and affectionate.  She ate well and showed no signs of illness.  She lived with four other cats with whom she got along famously.

On May 15, 2016, April was adopted by a young lady from Woodstock where she will start her new life with her and her nine-year old son.  Congratulations, April!  Don't forget to send lots of photos!

"Mitch" came to us on February 24, 2015 from Greenfield where he had been found by a man near his home.  He is friendly, but he had problems.  He was emaciated, had ear mites which resulted in infection in his ears, had a wound behind his right ear and an old wound on his right hind leg.  His leg had apparently been fractured at some point in the past and he could not move it properly.  This, perhaps, is secondary to his emaciated state - how can you hunt when one of your legs doesn't work?  He was born about February 15, 2010.

On March 23, 2015, Mitch underwent surgery to allow him more mobility and movement in his hind leg.  Unfortunately, this was not enough to give him the mobility and comfort that he requires.  It was determined that his leg required amputation and he had this surgery in April, which was very successful.  He is his very pleasant self - greeting his human servants with a loud quizzical "Mew??" and quickly jumping onto the nearest lap for a cuddle.  He's a real sweetheart.  As of April 26, 2016 he is recovering very well.  He's getting along very well on three legs and is a happy, purring, loving little boy. 

On May 8, 2016, Mitch was adopted by a young family in Grand Falls where he'll be the best friend of a young girl who loves him greatly, and the sentiment is mutual!  Congratulations, Mitch!  Please send us some family photos soon!

"Bare" came to DunRoamin' on October 24, 2015 from Beechwood.  He was missing fur from his back due to allergies that his family was unable to treat.  He also had large itchy, scaly patches on his stomach, under his arms and on his tail. 

Bare was born about October 25, 2010 and is a very nice boy.  He was prescribed a diet of Medi-Cal Hypo allergenic food and given some medication to help with his itchiness.  His fur has grown back in very well and he's back to his normal shiny pewter-grey softness!

He is a beautiful little boy who loves people and is anxious to be a normal kitty with a loving home.  That will happen very soon!  He's just waiting for that perfect person to walk in the door!  He loves to be picked up, held, patted, talked to - he loves just about everything!!

On May 9, 2016, Bare was adopted by a family in Woodstock who just can't wait to have him!  He will be spoiled beyond his wildest dreams and he promises to do the same for his new family.  Congratulations!

"Shambles" came to DunRoamin' from Williamsburg, NB on October 24, 2015.  Her family reported that she had not been eating or drinking very much for the last three weeks and that they had been feeding her by syringe, but she vomited much of what she ate.  They stated that she had lost weight, was lethargic and was not herself at all.  They were not financially or logistically able to get her to veterinary care.

Shambles was born about April 25, 2014 and is a quiet little girl.  She loves other cats and particularly likes dogs, especially large ones.  Her best friend was a German Shepherd. 

On October 27, 2015, she underwent surgery when a blockage was discovered in her intestine.  She is now doing perfectly well.  She is very fortunate that her owners recognized her plight and got her the assistance she needed.  She thanks Dr Monteith for removing her blockage and giving her this second chance at a wonderful life.

On May 5, 2016, Shambles was adopted by the young man with whom she had fallen in love.  And the feeling is mutual!  She now lives in Bedell, NB with the new love of her life.  Congratulations, Shambles!  Write often!

"Tiberius" came to us on March 3, 2016 from the Holmesville area where he had come to a home as a stray.   When it was recognized that he needed help, he was accepted by DunRoamin' where his vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic made the following diagnosis:  he was emaciated, dehydrated, his bottom canine teeth had been broken off at the gum line, his front feet had infected wounds on them, he had frostbite (and lost the tip of his left ear) and he had open wounds on his shoulders and chest.  He also had swelling and infection under his tongue and an ulceration on the roof of his mouth which would have made it difficult and painful for him to ingest food, thus resulting in his low body weight of only 4.5 pounds.  Some of his wounds may have been the result of an animal attack.

Tiberius is a beautiful boy who was born about March 1, 2014.  He has a very unique fur pattern - a pale tabby with lots of white fur interspersed with light grey.  This is known as a silver tabby.  He was given the name of a Star Trek character and he is determined to live up to this strong new name.  He was scared, but who wouldn't have been?  He looked forward to having a family who would ensure he never has to go through anything like this again.  He thanks the people who gave him this opportunity for a new and better life.

UPDATE:  As you can see, as of March 25, Tiberius looks like a whole new cat and it's only three weeks later!  He still has some fur to grow back in  and his ear tip has fallen off from the frostbite, but he's much improved.   He still can't seem to get enough food, but he's learned to trust us and he's even purred and head butted a few times!  He's gonna be fine!!

On April 30, 2016, Tiberius was welcomed into his new home by his family - a young couple from Fredericton.  He will be well loved and cared for - check out his photos on Facebook - we'll be seeing lots of him as he settles in with his new family!  Thanks, Megan, for giving him a whole new life.

"Jaime" was returned to DunRoamin' on March 9, 2016 from Saint John, NB where she had been adopted on August 4, 2015.  She lived there happily, but near Christmas she and the other family cat developed problems co-habitating, so Jaime was returned to us.  She had originally come to us from Mainstream where she was a stray who had an abscess on her right cheek, a huge number of fleas and an infected left ear.  All these things were easily addressed. 

She is a beautiful little girl who is affectionate and attentive.  She hoped for a new home where she can enjoy the luxuries of a loving family again.  She went to a foster home which she enjoyed immensely.  She hoped to stay there permanently!

On April 27, 2016, we learned that she was a permanent family member!  She loves the young boy whom she keeps company on his bed while he sleeps and she even likes their large Husky/Rottie dog!  Way to go, Jaime!  Congratulations!  Send lots of photos!!

"Tracey" came to us on August 22, 2011 from Tracey Mills where she had been found wandering all alone. She was wearing a white flea collar that was very tight around her neck, she was covered with an excessive amount of fleas and was very thin, as though she hadn't eaten well in a very long time. She was already spayed, so that and the collar lead to the conclusion that she belongs in a home with her family.  Her rescuer tried to locate her family, but had absolutely no luck.  Tracey was born about February 1, 2010.

Tracey is a very loving cat. She is not at all shy and has obviously been part of a loving household. She was treated for her fleas and has been eating up a storm since she's been here.  She is very loving and her special trait is her tail that is flat on the back and she holds it along her side!  In March, she went to a foster home with a very nice couple.

On April 27, 2016, we learned that she had won over her foster mother and father and that she would become a permanent family member.  She sleeps on the bed between them and is perfect company while she sits beside them during the day and watches the traffic from her window perch.  Congratulations, Tracey.  It's been a long time coming, but you hit the jackpot!

"Winchester" came to DunRoamin' on March 24, 2016 from Fielding where he had been a stray who had been fed by a gentleman for approximately the past year.  He had a limp and the gentleman had been trying to help him but Winchester wanted nothing to do with him other than coming for food and shelter when he required it.   Recently he appeared to have developed a head tilt.  The gentleman was finally successful in live trapping him and he was brought to the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for help.  The following diagnosis was made by his vet:  his limp was attributed to the fact that he had been shot in the right front shoulder some time ago, resulting in the top of his humerus being sheared off by the bullet.  Due to the location and type of injury, he required surgery to remove his leg.

This is Winchester's x-ray.  The arrow points at the very top of the humerus which had been sheared off of the rest of the length of the bone.  It was displaced behind the rest of the bone and most of the shoulder joint.  The bright white flecks are fragments of the bullet, the main portion of which was removed by Winchester's vet.    

Winchester's teeth were also a concern.  He had moderate tartar and a chipped upper canine which required dental surgery to extract.  His ears also needed care as he had infection and polyps in his ear canal which required surgery which he underwent in April.  This surgery was a success as well.

Winchester was born about March 24, 2010.  Originally thought to be feral, he soon showed himself to be a purring, head butting, happy little boy, once he knew he was warm, safe, loved and pain free.  He thanks the gentleman whose patience and concern allowed him to finally be DunRoamin'.  He also thanks Dr Monteith at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic for her skills and assistance.

The surgery to remove his leg took place on Thursday, March 31, 2016 and he did well and was soon getting around on three legs with no problem at all.  He likes dogs whom he head butts and rubs against.  Winchester is grateful for all the medical care he has received at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic.  He is particularly grateful to his friends Professor Stymiest and her students at NBCC - Miramichi Campus for all the love and support they have provided.  We are all grateful.  Thank you.

On April 25, 2016, we learned that Winchester had been chosen to join the family of a very loving and caring couple in Whitney, NB where he'll join several other ex-DunRoamin' strays and their friends. Congratulations!!  Your new mother has written this poem in honour of all who rescue and make new lives possible:

BROKEN THINGS

You who rescue broken things
With haunted eyes and cries of pain,
Little souls that shake in fear,
And huddle silent in the rain.
Chained out in the bitter cold,
Tossed away and left alone,
With no hands to comfort them,
With no place to call their own.
You who rescue broken things,
Who make sure none are left behind,
Who teach that there are those who care,
Whose hands are gentle, loving, kind.

Who were saved because of you,

Despite all that they have been through.

"Lennox" came to DunRoamin' from the Coldstream area on November 24, 2015.  The people who were looking after her were going away and could no longer care for her.  She was born about December 14, 2014 and is now spayed and vaccinated.  She was tested for FIV and FeLV and treated for parasites as well.

Lennox was a little hissy at first, but she settled in fine once that she realized she was safe among friends.  She is a beautiful brown tabby with gorgeous green eyes that will mesmerize you with their intensity of love!  She is very affectionate and is a quiet little girl who will enjoy a warm soft bed in the busiest room of your house! 

On April 17, 2016, Lennox was adopted by a young lady from Fredericton whose friends were happy to help make this new family member the best gift ever!  Congratulations!  Another great birthday present!

"Jeter" came to DunRoamin' on March 9, 2014.  He was found about a foot and a half from the centre line on the road near Glassville, half covered with snow.  Had the lady not noticed him, his story would be quite different than what it is now.  He had already been neutered, so must have belonged to someone at some point in his life.  He was born about March 9, 2013.

Jeter was cold, hungry, skinny and had corneal trauma on his right eye (possibly caused by an ulcer, upper respiratory infection, trauma or conjunctivitis).  He was very happy to have medical treatment for this and to be warm and safe.  He kneads, purrs and head butts as soon as a human comes near him.  He is a cuddly little sweetheart! 

On March 30, 2015, Jeter underwent surgery to remove his right eye as it was not healing as we had hoped.  He is a handsome young cat who is happy to have lots of care and the medical attention he deserves.  He's come a very long way.  We thank his vet for her skill and care. 

On April 17, 2016, Jeter was adopted by a young couple from Fredericton.  He made his new mother very happy as he's the best thing that's happened on her birthday so far!  Congratulations, Jeter!  Send us lots of photos and keep us up to date on your wonderful new life!  Happy Birthday, Samantha!

"Gatlin" came from a shelter on May 8, 2015, when they could no longer provide adequate medical care for him.  He was thin, had a moderate allergic skin disease, open infected wounds from scratching and a fractured right upper canine.  He was born about May 1, 2010.

Gatlin's wounds and fractured tooth were attended to and he was given medication and treated for his skin condition.  He was fostered by a great friend in Connell where he got the best of love and care.

On April 15, 2016, we learned that he would be a permanent resident.  He is grateful for the love, warmth, home and medical care he has received in the past year.  He's a beautiful little boy and he's very happy.  Congratulations, Gatlin!

"Tenille" came to us on October 2, 2015 from the Woodstock area where it was reported she had been found in a mud puddle.  Tenille was born about June 26, 2015 and was small for her age.  She did not want to eat on her own and showed signs of seizures.  With warmth, love, food and care, she began to eat on her own and she even purred for her new friends who were taking such good care of her.

She received the best care possible at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and has not shown signs of seizures since.  As of November 1, 2015, she became a foster kitty for a wonderful woman in Florenceville who monitored for seizures (she's had none) and gave her all the love and care she deserves!  Tenille is energetic, loving and feisty as all get out!!  Her foster mother says, "Tenille is a petite little girl with unique markings and an even more unique personality.  She is very outgoing and curious and loves to play!  Tenille loves other cats, toys and treats.  She is becoming more affectionate every day, from cuddles on your lap to purrs on your pillow at night." 

On April 15, 2016, we learned that Tenille would become a permanent resident of her friend in Florenceville where she shares the home with several other cats.  Congratulations, Tenille!

"Alberta" came to us on June 12, 2015 from the Woodstock area where she had been part of a colony that was spayed/neutered as part of one of our initiatives in 2013.  She was brought to us because she had become very matted and full of burdocks since then to the extent that the only way to help her was to give her a full body clip.  She felt much better very quickly.

Medical assessment showed that she had lost weight since we last saw her, had moderate gingivitis and some upper canines needed to be extracted.  Alberta also had an elevated heart rate, a heart murmur and may have hyperthyroidism.  She is perfectly healthy, however, and requires no medication or special food.  She was born about June, 2005, so her life was no life for an outdoor cat.  She was content to be part of a family here, but she was ecstatic to learn that . . .

. . . on April 9, 2016, she was adopted into a home in Florenceville-Bristol where she'll be loved forever.  She was also happy to learn that her friend Tussle (see below) was invited to be part of the family also.  Congratulations, Alberta.  Have a wonderful life.  Send lots of photos, okay?

"Tussle" came to DunRoamin' on February 18, 2016 from the Woodstock area where he had been a stray that a gentleman was feeding for a few weeks.  When he showed up today, he was injured, displaying bloody wounds on his head and neck.

Examination by his vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic revealed that he had dermatitis on his head, neck and chest.  Further injuries were most likely self-inflicted due to scratching at the itchy dermatitis sites, as the locations he could reach were all infected.

Tussle underwent medical care which ensured resolution of all his medical problems. He is doing exceptionally well and is showing his true colours which are all extremely positive.  He loves people and other cats and he will stand on his hind legs and head butt you if you don't pay attention to him.  He's very loving and affectionate!

On April 9, 2016, Tussle was elated to learn that he had been invited to join a young couple in Florenceville-Bristol as one of their two newest family members.  His friend Alberta (see above) was also invited.  Congratulations to the whole family.  Write soon, Tuss!

"Razor" came back to us on February 4, 2016 when, due to changing family circumstances, they were unable to keep him.  He had originally come from Woodstock on June 20, 2014 where he had arrived as a stray at a home where a young couple spent much time helping stray cats in their area.  They recognized his need for medical assistance and made certain he received it.  He had an aural hematoma on his right ear and had injuries around his head and neck.  He was subsequently adopted to a home in Hartland, but due to family considerations, he was returned to us.  He was born some time in 2006, so he's about ten years old.

Razor had some wounds which were diagnosed as the result of Feline Cutaneous Asthenia, a hereditary condition in which the skin does not contain enough collagen and therefore has less elasticity than normal.  This can cause damage to the skin if it is stretched and torn.  Razor is currently on medication to help combat this, but this disease is incurable.  He will stay in a foster home and be loved, cuddled and spoiled as long as possible.  He is a very sweet little boy who loves people, cats, dogs and everything in between.

On April 8, 2016, Razor was adopted by his foster family.  He now lives in a home in Florenceville with eight other cats and one foster dog.  He shows his appreciation by hogging the pillow and snoring all night!  He is a very sweet boy who is grateful to have a warm, safe home.

"Kenya" came to DunRoamin' on January 8, 2016 from the Woodstock area.  Her owner reported that she was not eating well, wasn't gaining weight, was sneezing often and had diarrhea.  Her owner was unable to care for her.  She was born about July 8, 2015, so is just a baby.

Kenya was quiet and watchful but otherwise seemed happy to have food and a warm bed.   She had fleas and ear mites, as well as sinusitis and conjunctivitis, for which she has been treated and did well as a result.  She's a beautiful little girl who quickly became 100% healthy and anxious to move on to a permanent home.  She was spayed on February 2, 2016 and enjoyed playing with her friends Chyler, Trickle, Jann, Joy, Artemus and Ennis.

On March 13, 2016, Kenya met a family from Plaster Rock who has three cats.  Two are older and not as interested in playing as the younger one, so Kenya will be the perfect addition as a playmate for their one-year old cat.  Congratulations, Kenya!  Please keep in touch!!

"Jann" came back to us on February 18, 2015.  She had originally come to DunRoamin' on October 13, 2015 when she and her sister and two brothers were left in a box and had to be live-trapped because they were so scared.  Other than having ticks, all were healthy.  Jann was born about August 4, 2015 and was the last of her litter to be adopted, which happened on November 21, 2015.

Unfortunately, Jann's family's circumstances changed and they were no longer able to keep her so she came back to us, as is our policy.  We'll find her a new family.  Jann is quiet but very loving and affectionate.  She plays and sleeps with her friends Joy, Kenya, Trickle and Chyler and is very talkative - she'll stare you right in the eye and tell you a story!  She also loves to purr!

On March 13, 2016, a young lady who had met Jann the previous week returned to invite her to join her family.  Jann now lives near Avondale with several other ex-DunRoamin' cats who have the best home possible!  Congratulations, Jann!  Write soon!

"Joy" came to DunRoamin' when she was found on the side of the Trans Canada Highway near Riverbank on December 6, 2015.  She was all alone, cold, hungry and had a porcupine quill in the side of her neck.  She was diagnosed with a problem as a result of having eaten earthworms - that tells you how hungry she must have been!  She was treated for this and is now perfectly well and healthy - and don't forget happy!

Joy was born about March 6, 2015.  She is exceptionally affectionate, wanting only to be held and cuddled.  She purrs immediately when picked up, happy to be getting some attention.  She is very aware of her surroundings and loves to explore and play.   Joy is a true joy who hopes for a family soon.

On March 5, 2016, Joy got her wish.  As tomorrow is her birthday, she will spend it in her new home in Gagetown, NB.  She even gets a new name - Lucy Liu!  Congratulations to you and your new family!

"Clooney" came to DunRoamin' on November 14, 2014 from Perth-Andover.  He had had several problems over the last couple of months including fleas, earmites, marked gingivitis and missing hair, potentially from fighting to survive.  Clooney then had blood in his urine which may have been due to a kidney infection.  He needed help.  And he got it.

Clooney is a beautiful black little boy who was born about March 15, 2014.  He wears a t-shirt and eats a hypo-allergenic food which will ensure he does not scratch himself due to allergies.  He's doing very well and hoping that he may be fortunate enough to get a home where he will be loved and kept safe and healthy for the rest of his life.  His wardrobe is growing and he loves his DunRoamin' logo t-shirt and his "You're not the boss of me" shirt!  His fur is black, but it is speckled with striking white hairs spread throughout giving him a "salt'n'peppa" look!  He is a tiny cat but is full grown.

Clooney currently writes an article for the DunRoamin' Facebook page and is published in several local papers - he's a celebrity!  Please check them out!

On February 27, 2016, Clooney was invited home by a very nice young lady whose cat, Scarlet, is looking for a young cat to be her best friend.  Scarlet also eats Hypo HP and has the best care possible, as Clooney will now.  Clooney will live with his new family in Charlottetown, PEI where he'll be spoiled rotten!!!  Send photos, Clooney, we'll be waiting!  We miss you already!  Especially and Sarah and Samuel!

Update:  As of March 12, 2016, Clooney sends regular photos and updates and we're happy to report that he and Scarlet are the best of friends who run, play and sleep happily together.  They are the best thing that has happened for their mother and they are so blessed to be part of a happy family!

"Meryl" and her friend "Depp" came from Perth-Andover on the evening of May 22, 2014 along with their mom Lucille and other siblings.  Meryl was born about March 21, 2014 and Depp was born about April 18, 2014.  They were being fed by a gentleman but Meryl had developed eye infections as well as such things as earmites.  At nine weeks of age, she weighed only 1.9 pounds.  Depp only weighed one pound.  They are almost indistinguishable until you get to know them, but Meryl has a few white hairs on her chest while Depp is black.

Meryl and Depp were very timid and quiet at first, but happy to have a safe and warm bed as well as medication for her ailments.  With this care, they quickly became healthy and have learned to trust people.  They grew VERY attached to their canine foster sister Ellie and loved to sleep with her and even allowed her to clean their ears!  They love other cats, dogs and kids, so they'll fit in anywhere!  They had ongoing issues with upper respiratory, but they were very fortunate to have all the love and care they required!

On February 23, 2016, we are very happy to report that Meryl and Depp moved to their forever home.  They now live in Woodstock with their best new friend who is very happy to add them to his family.  Thanks so much for giving them a home together!  Please write soon and send lots of photos!  We'll miss you both!

Update:  As of March 12, 2016, Meryl and Depp have settled in and have the "run" (literally!) of the house.  They are doing exceptionally well and have given their new family many hours of love and laughter.  Thanks for giving them the life they deserve!

"Greydie" and "Tricera" came to DunRoamin' along with four kittens on October 22, 2015 from the Hartland area.  She and the kittens had no shelter, were not being fed and they were not safe.  One of the kittens, Tricera, was missing part of a leg.  The remaining part of her leg had to be amputated, but she does just fine on three legs.  She is very friendly and loves people.  She was born about April 22, 2015.

Greydie was born about October 22, 2014.  She was initially very timid, but has realized that she is safe, has food and shelter and that the people around her will care for her and her babies.  She is a beautiful little girl and she loves to be patted and have her back scratched.  She's become very social and very loving.  She would like to have a home and would be ecstatic if Tricera could go along with her.  They love each other, have never been separated, love to sleep cuddled up together and they make a beautiful matching set!!

On February 21, 2016, both Greydie and Tricera got their wish.  They are now members of a family in Beardsley where they'll be spoiled beyond their wildest dreams.  Congratulations!!

"Sparrow" came to us from Fielding on July 19, 2015.  He had been part of a family of kittens and their mom who came to a lady asking for help.  The lady generously fed and sheltered the mom and kittens, but noticed that Sparrow was in need of more help than she was able to provide to him.

Sparrow was assessed by our vet at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic who determined that he had suffered a broken pelvis perhaps as long as two weeks previously.  That must have hurt for all that time!  Sparrow was not able to pee by himself so his bladder had to be expressed three times daily until he could do it on his own, and now he can!  He is happy, healthy and anxious to live in a home with his very own family!  His pride and joy is his extra-thick, long tail, and he is a very affectionate and loving little boy.

Sparrow was born about April 12, 2015.  He is very grateful to have the medical care he required and he thanks the kind lady who made it possible for him to get the help he needed.  His hind legs splay a slight bit as a result of his injury, but he is perfectly happy, healthy and very loving.  He has a wonderful personality!

On February 21, 2016, Sparrow met his new family.  He now lives in Grand Falls where he'll be the spoiled little cat he always dreamed of being!!  Don't forget to write and send pictures, Sparrow.  We'll all miss you!

"Juno" came to DunRoamin' on May 17, 2015 from Oakland, NB where she was discovered laying flat out on a driveway.  Juno had injuries consistent with having been struck by a vehicle.  She had a skull fracture above her left eye and secondary head trauma which included a bloody mouth and nose.  Her right pupil was constricted.  She was born about the middle of May, 2013. 

Juno was administered pain medication and antibiotics by her vet and had to have her left eye removed but she's perfectly fine now.  She appeared to have no injuries to the rest of her body.  She was in decent physical shape which may indicate that she had a family to care for her.  Juno is a very nice little girl.  She eagerly meets everyone at the door, wondering if they are going to ask her to be part of their family. 

On February 19, 2016, that special person came to her door and asked her to go home with her.  Juno now lives in Simonds with her new six-year-old best friend and two ex-DunRoamin' strays.  You made it, Juno!  Congratulations!!  Send lots of photos!

"Jenner" came to us from Hartland on June 4, 2015 when he was surrendered due to the fact that his family had financial restrictions which made them unable to treat him.  Jenner had a urethral obstruction which had resulted in acute kidney failure and shock.  He was born about June 1, 2010.

Jenner's vet took all possible action to help this little boy and we hoped that he would make it.  He was fed by syringe to make sure he got the nutrition he needed, but he soon started to eat well on his own.  He's perfectly fine and all he needs is a diet of Medi-Cal Urinary S/O food which will ensure he never has this problem again.  Way to go, Jenner!  He is a beautiful boy who loves people and other cats and he even has no problem with dogs!  He can't wait for a new home! 

On February 13, 2016, Jenner met his new family who had seen him on this website and fell in love with him.  Meeting in person sealed the deal and he is now a proud member of the Armoured Corps in Oromocto with his very own permanent family.  Congratulations, Jenner!  Don't forget to send us photos and let us know how you're enjoying your new life!  We'll miss you!

"Hocus" came to DunRoamin' on October 30, 2015 from the Florenceville area where she had been cared for for the past seven months.  She had received an injury to her right hind leg which needed veterinary care and the people who were caring for her could not provide it as they were moving and could not take her with them.

Hocus had ear mites and several wounds on her leg.  She was treated for her injuries, ear mites and was spayed and vaccinated.  She was a little shy but has come along very well.  She hopes for a permanent home where she will be loved and cared for and can show her gratitude.  She was born about October 29, 2014.  She is a BEAUTIFUL calico who has just enough attitude to make her all that much more interesting!

On February 2, 2016, Hocus got her wish for a permanent home.  She will now live in Woodstock with her new best friend.  Congratulations to both!.

"Fonda" came to us on April 22, 2015 when he was rescued by the NBSPCA along with two adults and 12 other kittens (including Suzanna - see below).  He was born about January 7, 2015 and is a sweet little boy.  He was very tiny for his age and we've looked forward to seeing how big he grows. 

Fonda had ear mites, was thin and very scared, as were all his friends, but he quickly learned what it's like to be loved, cuddled and cared for.  He was neutered and vaccinated and was anxious for a home of his own.  He is grateful to his foster family for taking him in and teaching him what family is all about.  He is now back with his foster family in Plaster Rock and eagerly awaits a permanent family.

On January 30, 2016, Fonda learned that he already had a permanent family!  He is officially a member of the family of the lady who has loved him from Day 1!  Congratulations, Fonda!

"Suzanna" came to us on April 22, 2015 when she was rescued by the NBSPCA along with two adults and 12 other kittens (including Fonda - see above).  She was born about February 8, 2015 and is a sweet little girl. She is learning to play very quickly and loves to sleep cuddled with her friends in a nice big kitten pile.

Suzanna had ear mites, was thin and very scared, as were all her friends, but she quickly learned what it's like to be loved, cuddled and cared for.  She was spayed and vaccinated and is ready for a home now.  She thanks her foster family for giving her a family situation in which to feel secure and loved.  She is currently back with her foster family in Plaster Rock where she is enjoying herself immensely!

On January 30, 2016, Suzanna learned that she would never have to leave!  Her foster mother had fallen in love with her long ago and she's gonna stay forever!  Congratulations, Suzanna!!

"Tommy" originally came to us on March 15, 2014 from the Centreville area where he was a stray who had a frostbitten ear, ear mites, tapeworms and wounds all over his body from fighting to survive.  He also had a marked infection in both eyes.  Tommy tested positive for FIV** (see below).  He was born about March, 2013.

Tommy and his friend Sergio lived with a family until May 13, 2015 when they were returned to DunRoamin' as a family member was allergic.  Tommy had also been peeing inappropriately so upon his return he was immediately checked out by his vet who determined that he had a minor infection which was easily treated and he's perfectly fine now.  He hopes for a new home soon - he misses living in a house with his very own family to love.

On January 30, 2016, Tommy got his wish when a nice lady from Coldstream decided that she'd like to give him the family he's been wishing for.  Tommy is a very cuddly, loving and attentive boy who looks forward to spending many days and nights on his new mother's lap!  Congratulations to both!

** FIV is contagious to other cats through blood and saliva.  It is reasonably difficult to spread, however, and now believed to be mostly spread through deep bite wounds.  Obviously it would be ideal if FIV-positive cats only lived with other FIV-positive cats, but currently some of the large rescue centers in the US have been studying multi-cat households with FIV-positive cats living with FIV-negative cats and have so far found the risk to the non-FIV cats to be very small, assuming that the cats are all spayed/neutered and used to living in groups (ie:  not as likely to fight).

"Comet" and his sister "Cupid" came to DunRoamin' on December 7, 2015 from the Centrevllle area where several cats were known to be living as strays.  These little ones were found alone after a snow storm.  A kind lady was trying to feed them but they had no shelter.  They needed help.

Comet and Cupid were born about October 12, 2015.  They became very social little babies with the help of their foster mother and her other cats and dogs.  They eventually returned to DunRoamin' where they won the heart of each person they have met.  They play and sleep together and hope for a home together.

On January 30, 2016, Comet and Cupid were officially welcomed into their new home by a wonderful couple who drove all the way from Long Reach, NB, (near Saint John) to meet them, then came back a few days later to take them home!  Thanks very much for giving these little sweethearts a home!  Please send photos soon!

"Guy LaFurr" came to us on February 25, 2015 from Holmesville where he had been found as a stray who required medical attention.  He had large open wounds on his neck and three paws were infected and abscessed.  He had a high fever and an eye infection as well.  He was born about August 25, 2011.

Guy is a quiet little guy who is in awe of the assistance and care he has received.  All his wounds have healed nicely and he's 100% healthy again!  He is very loving, affectionate and is a true hockey fan who is honoured to have been named after such an amazing man!  He hopes to gain a home in a Habs household in which he can watch hockey from the best seat in the house (that would include someone's lap, of course!)  He is without a doubt one of the most affectionate cats in our care right now.

On January 29, 2016, a young lady met Guy and knew he'd be the perfect friend for her family.  Even though his new father is a Boston fan, Guy loves him immeasurably and the sentiment is obviously returned.  We are so happy to know that you're in a loving family environment - right where you belong!  Thanks, Dani, for making this happen for him!

"C-fer" came to DunRoamin' on November 12, 2015, from the Perth-Andover area.  He had a large abdominal hernia which resulted in a traumatic injury to his stomach and he was in bad shape.  C-fer underwent surgery at the Florenceville Veterinary Clinic and is now doing well.  He was born about November 12, 2014.

C-fer is an exceptionally affectionate little boy.  He head butts, purrs and loves with the best of them!  His stomach has healed nicely and he's absolutely no worse for the wear.  He loves to jump from the floor to your shoulder, he is the most affectionate little boy in the whole room and the very first to ask to be picked up and patted.  He will sit on your lap or lay around your neck for hours! 

On January 21, 2016, C-fer got his best wish.  He was adopted by a family in Beechwood where he'll get to sleep on the bed of his very best friend every night.  And his friend Noah (see below) got to go, too!  Congratulations to all!

"Noah" returned to DunRoamin' on September 25, 2014.  He originally came to us on January 24, 2014 from the Oakland area.  He had been urinating on articles in the home and they no longer wanted him.  He also was not interested in eating and was a very unhappy boy to the point that Soft Paws had to be applied to keep him from scratching people.

Noah was found to have a minor urinary tract infection which was treated quickly.  This brought his personality back to normal since he felt so much better so quickly.  He was born sometime in 2006 and is just missing that one little thing . . . family.  He was adopted in August 2014, but was returned as he was urinating inappropriately again.  A vet examination revealed that he had a bit of a urinary infection and mild dermatitis, but a few small pills took care of that in no time at all!  He is perfectly healthy again. 

Noah loves people and can't wait to run out to our Reception area to meet them.  He is extremely attentive and affectionate - he just wants to be with people!  He's a real sweetheart who would love to live in a family situation and would be especially great with children or senior citizens.  Please come meet him.

On January 21, 2016, Noah got the best news of his entire life.  He now lives with a family in Beechwood where he'll be loved beyond his wildest dreams!  His best friend has been caring for him since September and now he'll get to live with her permanently!  And his friend C-fer (see above) got to go too!! Congratulations!!

"Jangle" came to us on November 25, 2015.  She was born about September 15, 2015 and is sweeter than sweet.  Unfortunately, she had an umbilical hernia which will require surgery to correct. 

Jangle is the most loving kitten you'll ever meet.  She immediately starts purring if someone even looks at her!  She loves to be held and cuddled and will look you straight in the eye to get attention and love.

Jangle must put on some weight before her surgery but she only has about a few ounces to go as of January 16, 2016, so she'll be due for her surgery soon!

On January 16, 2016, Jangle met her new family. Once her surgery is completed and she's healthy, she'll live in Fredericton with a very nice lady and her young daughter.  Congratulations, Jangle!  We hope to hear from you very often!

"Valencia" came to DunRoamin' on March 21, 2015 from Knowlesville where she had been a stray who had been around the area all winter.  She had become injured and no one was willing to help her, so she came to us.  She was born about March 21, 2009.

Valencia had an infected oozing wound on the left side of her body.  She also had infected and red teeth and marked gingivitis, as well as dirty ears.  

Valencia was initially a little on the timid side, but how could you be timid when you're around so many people who love you?  She quickly became much more social and loves everyone, especially kids!  She is a beautiful bright orange girl with large green eyes that will melt your heart!  She is currently living with more than fifteen other felines and she gets along very well with all.

On January 12, 2016, Valencia met a gentleman from Juniper who captured her heart.  She knew she had to have him, and she will!  She is now the proud new member of their family and she'll live happily ever after in Juniper with her new parents and new feline friend, Boots.  Congratulations!  Send lots of photos!

This is "Speckle." On January 12, 2011, four cats came to DunRoamin'.  They were feral and living in Florenceville, but were in danger from vehicles, predators, etc.  It also appeared they had no shelter.  They were live-trapped by caring neighbours and brought for help.  The mother, Speckle, was about two years old, so was born about January 12, 2009.  Her babies appeared to be about five or six months old.  They were all long-haired beauties who were extremely matted, which greatly hindered their ability to maintain their body heat.  With current cold temperatures, they really needed help.  All were healthy, but had to be shaved to remove the mats.  The kittens, Heckle, Jeckle and Freckle were eventually adopted.  Speckle lived with a foster family in Brighton while she awaited a permanent family. She loved to be brushed and will head butt and lick your hand to get you to do it.  She also lived as a Cat For Seniors cat for two years - she's perfect company for everyone!

On January 9, 2016, Speckle met a lady and her two children who think she is the most perfect cat ever!  She and her friend Barrymore (see below) will be their newest family members in Hanwell, NB.  Thanks very much!  Write soon!

"Barrymore" came to us on December 6, 2014 from the Oakland area where she and her friend Fontaine were part of a colony that was inspected by the NBSPCA.  Barrymore did not appear normal, so was brought for help.

Barrymore is only about a year old, born about December 1, 2013.  Her vet discovered that she had a polyp in her ear which caused her head tilt.  The polyp was removed and she is now fine.  She is quiet and unassuming, but if you pat her she's right there to get all she can!  She's wonderful company and has a great personality.

On January 9, 2016, Barrymore met a young family from Hanwell and she and her friend Speckle (see above) will now be their newest family members.  Congratulations, Barrymore, you couldn't have done better!  Write soon and send lots of photos!

"Coulson" came to us on October 23, 2014 from the Wakefield area.  She had shown up at a barn and she was in dire need of help.  She was born about March 20, 2014 and was emaciated, dehydrated, starving, exhausted and had earmites.  She also had a medial luxation of her patella (ie:  her kneecap was permanently dislocated).

Coulson was vaccinated, tested for FeLV and FIV and treated for her parasites.  She was also given fluids.  It took her a little time to recuperate, but she is now a beautiful and loving little girl.  Her fur is medium length and very soft.  She loves to be patted and brushed and she eagerly awaits the family who will invite her to join them permanently.

On January 9, 2016, she got her wish when she met a very nice lady from Bath.  She will now live with her and be perfect company for the family.  Coulson looks forward to spending lots of time on laps and being loved.  Congratulations, little girl!

"Ottie" and his siblings Jim, Nekid John and Dave came from Oakland on September 5, 2015 where they had been abandoned in a cardboard box on the side of the road.  They had no mother.  A kind man had conscientiously thought to look in the box on that hot afternoon - thank goodness!  There was no shade for them and they were thirsty and hungry.  Their eyes were just beginning to open, so they were approximately a week old.  Being so young they could not eat, pee or poop on their own, so they were fortunate to have DunRoamin' volunteers who took turns fostering them and making sure they were eating/peeing/pooping every few hours around the clock - hard work!  They'd like to thank Gillian & Derek, Mandy & Bryan, Mary Ann, Marian, Sandy and Nikki and her kids for doing such a wonderful job raising these little ones.  They turned into fine young kittens who are happy, healthy, playful, loving and cuddly.

On January 8, 2016, Ottie was adopted by a young man from Somerville where he'll be a friend for several other cats including Mellow, another ex-DunRoamin' kitty. Congratulations to everyone!  Stay in touch, Ottie!  Your sisters Jim and John (see below) will be anxious to hear how you're doing in your new home!

. . . on January 7, 2016, Jim and John were adopted into a loving family in Upper Woodstock where they'll live together happily ever after.  Thanks to their new family!  Please stay in touch!
